Compare marketplace sellers without trusting a star rating alone

A star average condenses many experiences into one number. It can help you start a comparison, but it cannot replace checking who is selling, what is included and how problems are handled.

Read for patterns

Open recent reviews and look for specific details about the exact product variant. Repeated reports of missing parts or a different model are more useful than a vague complaint. Check whether reviews combine several sizes, colours or generations. Do not assume that suspiciously enthusiastic wording proves fraud; instead, look for independently checkable information.

Ask one concrete question

If a detail affects your purchase, ask the seller before ordering: Is the charger included? What are the dimensions? Where is the warranty honoured? A clear answer is useful evidence of communication, although it cannot guarantee delivery or quality. Save it with the listing.

Compare the whole offer

Put the delivered price, delivery estimate, return conditions and seller identity beside each other. Paying slightly more may be reasonable when the product details and support are clearer. Avoid moving payment outside the platform at a seller's request without understanding which protections you would lose. The FTC's guidance on online shopping explains why researching an unfamiliar seller is worth the extra moment before checkout.
